I bought this car because I’m trying to be a better consumer by using less gas and polluting the air less. Owning a hybrid forces a driver to relearn how to drive. If you accelerate on a hill, this car has plenty of power to allow you to do that, but your gas mileage will not be as great. I bought the Touring model, and at first I was getting around 43 mpg, below the rated 47-51. But a slight adjustment in my driving style has allowed me to improve to an average of 52 mpg. And on some trips I’m getting even better mileage. And the Touring has all the bells and whistles that are usually missing in other hybrids. It is fun to drive, handles corners with stability, and has a ton of safety features. If I use them all, I can literally remove my hands from the steering wheel and the car stays perfectly in the center of the lane. Just a great car.

After test driving multiple hybrid cars, I found both the price, options, and overall look of my new 2019 Insight to be a no contest winner. Friends and family are always commenting on it’s attractive features and are surprised to find out the price for the Touring model.

As stated in my previous review, I give this car good ratings for reliability , looks, and I would strongly recommend this car. Now after 7000 miles of driving time I would like to bring out some items I believe would inhance this cars value, The follwing items are my belief to make this vehicle a super winner. I would recommend the following improvements: larger gas tank I find myself refueling this vehicle more than should be necsessary. Get rid of the camera for blind spot monatoring for right turns, it is useless for night driving, add blind spot monitoring like the Honda Accord. I may be old fashion but I would add a tach, engine temperature gauge ,spare tire as standard, automatic 8 speed transmission, the CVT Transmissin does not seem to be well syncronized, add an additional model to this line up producing an engine with more horse power. Again these issues are just my opinion, most cosumers would appreciate this vehicle in its present state.
